Beauty! I give it a AU50. Reverse keeps this in AU to me, pretty good wear on the cheek/jaw.

Another beautiful woodie.  It's funny how the wood grain is only on the right side of the obverse, I would give it MS-62, it's the wood grain that fools you into thinking it's AU

AU50,,,flat on the cheek. May be a 53 with some luck! But a sweet looker just the same. nlp

I believe the strike wasn't full brought up on the obverse center, it's consistent with EF IMO. The reverse is very clean, but definately shows wear. I called it AU50 but suspect a TGP might take it to EF40-45.

You can see on the last picture where the wheat lines are starting to blend. I was probably too liberal on this coin. I am with your assessment of XF45 especially if sent to PCGS/NGC.
