You guys are making me feel bad. My purpose in starting this thread was just to have a little fun - not to drum up business. Please be sure to try real hard NOT to win this item from me. Just act as SHILLS and let someone else win it. Hey - it's the ebay way!

I believe I speak for everyone when I say this: We want to be supportive in this endeavor. I want to see as many bids on there as possible not so you can get a nice paycheck but so the uninformed can find it and become enlightened. And a nice paycheck is just a pleasant technicality

Hmmm... I wonder if there are any other self-serving noble causes I could take up...

You could always start a canned food drive and live like a king off of corn and old cranberry sauce

Next time You should also list in there that these did nto come out of an old cigar box, and you r aunt jenny did not have these up stairs in her attic. Even put in there that a guy last week did not get the 1937D 3 legged critter.:)

Well, speaking of finding a cigar box full of coins in Aunt Jenny's attic, I did have the opportunity a couple of years ago to go through a stash of coins that were found in the ductwork of my aunt's home. They were found there by the furnace repair guy - over $400 in face value of old coins! A genuine, honest to gosh unsearched hoard. The trouble was - it all turned out to be junk. Well - the silver was still worth quite a bit even at melt, but the point is there was no collectible stuff of any consequence in there. So even IF you do find an unsearched hoard there's no guarantee it'll be worth a darn. I wrote out the whole story at this thread... https://goccf.com/t/40184

I work at a coin store and my basic job is to list coins on ebay. I think that it is great what you did. When I list I always try as hard as I can to list things like they are sometimes in groups of coins we even add extras. Last time I sold a group of buffalo's I searched them by hand to make sure there was a nice grouping and all FULL dates. Good job for saying something. You are what keep our hobby alive and well. THANKS!

You could make some serious bank with those empty shotgun rolls. Just remember to say that they're truly unsearched! Remember this thread? Someone bid $162.50 for an empty 1999 State Quarters Silver Proof Box! How about this thread? A ten- gram silver bar, winning bid for $149.50 (that's $465 per troy oz.!) Never overestimate bidders on ebay!
