I was in the process of updating my Whitman folders with mintages that they hadn't filled in at the time of purchase, and I noticed that I was unable to find anywhere on the Internet that showed final coin mintages for 2022.
How long does it take for the mint(s) to give their final totals for a specific year? Thanks.

6,359,600,000 cents X 1.52mm thick = a stack 9,666,592,000 mm high = 9,667 km. At 2.5 g each, that's 15,899,000,000 g or 15.9 million kilos (15.5M k zinc and 3.97K k copper).

pretty tall stack, and a heavy load to carry.

Forgot to mention that is for the cents produced. If all the cents produced by the US Mint in 2022 were laid end-to-end, the chain would stretch (19.05 mm × 6359600000) = 121,150,380,000 mm or 121,150 km. That would be enough to circle the Earth (40,075 km circumference) three times.

In other words, a vast amount of wasted time and resources.

Quote: In other words, a vast amount of wasted time and resources. It is worth noting, though, that mintages for cents seem to be declining while mintages for dimes seem to be increasing. No wonder I've been noticing an increase in the number of dimes I've been finding on the sidewalks lately compared to years gone by.

Disco, it seems that I find a disproportionate number of dimes in parking lots etc. as compared to other coins. And it's been that way for at least 10 years.

It seems that dimes are taking their job as "the new cent" a little too aggressively!

I will bend over for any denomination, and for currency. Many years ago I found a twenty dollar bill in a gutter, and all these coins and currency do add up, one cent to twenty dollars.
