I hope you guys can tell from the pic, but from my unexperienced eye it looks a pretty major offset of the date and liberty. (zoom into the pic once you open it up, it looks like there are letter inside of the others)

Yep, it looks like plate split doubling, nothing special about that, pretty common on the copper plated zinc cents.

Dang it.... I've seen a bunch of other 89's like this, but when I saw the extent of this one, and the E inside the E I was like YESS!!

It's plating split doubling not plate wanted to clarify that one

It is die wear. It is similar to the "So called" 1955 doubled die which is actually die die wear which shows toward the rim. This is common though on different years of Cents. It always catches you eye, but it not really a variety.
