For the modern coins - I went with proofs, cause they look great. Also I chose the Arizona State Quarter for my set 'cause I'm from AZ.

For the LMC I would go with the 1970 s small date proof.
For the Jefferson nickel you should probably have a regular and silver varieties. I would choose a 1939D in MS and any date War Nickel in MS. For the Merc Dime the 45 micro S is a good choice as well as the 1931D in high grade unless you don't mind pursuing the 21 or 21D. The silver Roosy Dime, 1949S in high grade would be my choice. The silver Washington quarter, if you don't mind a lower grade the 1932S would be my choice. The clad quarter , probably a bicentennial and a State Quarter of your choice. Kennedy half 40% you must have the 1970D in high MS.And the clad half I would choose either the 2006 P or D satin finish because of the low mintages. You should probable include a modern 90% silver half as well. I would select the 2012s proof silver.

Almost all of my slabs are Silver Eagles and all but three are 2020 or newer.
From your list my choice would be the 40% Kennedy.

I agree in general with MisterT. For modern issues I try to get a key date or first year of issue as a starting point. Proof examples are also nice as they are readily available and generally inexpensive for modern issues.
