I am trying to convince the wife into letting me remake my office floor (about 13 ft by 13 ft) with a coin floor. This would be pennies glued down and covered with epoxy.

Has anyone here done that and can give any pointers?

Would zinc pennies survive being encased into epoxy?

Would there be any problem with mixing copper and zinc pennies, probably with a few Canadian steel pennies tossed in.?

If you haven't, check YouTube for DIY coin floor projects. Last I saw (a couple years ago), there were several--a few quite good.

Well The cheapest way would be with Lincoln cents. separating them into the 3 main colors (red, Red/Brown, and Brown.
then make a mosaic with them..

With all the effort involved in doing that, I think I would stick with pre 1981 cents.

I'd be interested in seeing some photos if you ever get it done.

I was at a bar in the U.S. Virgin Islands last month. The entire bar counter was made up of U.S. cents. I mixture of LMC and LSC. I didn't see any wheaties, but there were some 2009's. Definitely no pattern in terms of red or brown.
