1909 Wheat Penny With Missing Rim Edge?

I have a handful of 1909 pennies but one of them is smaller than the others, not a perfect circle and doesn't appear to have a rim edge. It may have been cut down to fool the coin mechanism on a Coca-Cola® vending machine. It's done to make the weight and size closer to a dime. The old soda machines had the bottles with the metal caps sticking toward you with a glass door that you opened then once the coin was put in you could pull your soda out. In stead of using a coin I just got a large container and popped the caps off on all the sodas and got all the sodas for free. Report this Post to the Staff
