This is my "collection" of US coins found noodling world coins in Australia. Not a single coin that isn't junk.

US 1 cent coins are pretty flimsy these days...

Philosophically, In the case of base metal coins,
not much different to Australian junk.

When it comes to junk silver, I don't mind which : US, Australian, British or World.
What is important,
is that I can buy for below ASW spot, usually as a collateral buy in amongst target coins in an auction lot.
In some cases, junk silver acquisitions obtained in this way are a no cost bonus.
Opportunities like this don't happen often.

I think that almost all silver accumulators have a vacuum cleaner mentality, if the opportunity presents itself.

It appears that it could be a clipped planchet.

It does look a cleaner cut than the rest of the broken 1 cent coins. Unfortunately since I took that photo I have bagged the coins up, so it will not be a straightforward task to find the specific coin again.

Maybe one day when I've got nothing better to do...
