1983 P Interesting Die Crack - Coin Community Forum

allcoinsaregood Pillar of the Community United States 808 Posts	Posted 04/30/2023 3:14 pm Hello Coin Collectors, I have for your inspection a dark brown 1983 P Lincoln Cent with two Die Cracks and a small Die Chip. The obverse has nothing except a delamination of the surface of the area from the date to the rim about 20% of the rim. I'm guessing PMD from a strike. The two Die Cracks are on the reverse one located on the top of the left roof to between I and T in United (common place) with a Die Chip on the other end between the first and second column of the Memorial. The other one I have never seen before at the top of the T of Cent to the rim very unusual! Look at the pics and let me know your thoughts an regards. Report this Post to the Staff

-makecents- Pillar of the Community United States 8729 Posts	Posted 04/30/2023 4:54 pm The obverse may be a folded over finned rim, created by a tilted die and could also just be damage, after the fact. allcoinsaregood Pillar of the Community United States 808 Posts	Posted 05/01/2023 11:59 am TedError the only Lincoln Cent that has the P mint mark is the 2017 P shield cent to recognize Lincoln's 200 year birthday. The other cents show the S or D mint marks. If they have no mint mark they were minted in Philadelphia. Regards! Report this Post to the Staff
