That is where the zinc is showing, where the plating was removed on this coin post strike. This coin was altered. So all the devices that are altered, are flatten and distorted post strike. Just a spender. Not a doubled die, not a Struck Through Grease issue. The clue again, if the coin had gray showing, it was there when it was struck. So this coin was altered post strike.
