Very nice
That is an indented strike, created by one planchet being overlapped by another and then struck. The other component would be an 80+% off center with a uniface reverse. I am not quite sure of exact value but I think it is in the $5-10 range.

Interesting...what does the rim look like in the lower right?
Is the reverse just as off-center? This cent doesn't look out-of-round otherwise....

Definitely an error - when you see a large indentation on a coin, look at the other side. If it's normal, then the indentation had to have happened on the coining press, i.e. error. Any indentation like that created outside the mint by 'damage' would definitely affect the other side of the coin.
