For probably a year or even more, I've been looking at 2 kopecks of 1915 Russia in my local store. I looked at the market prices and how much the seller wants for this coin suits me. But the problem is that the sticker on the reverse side is slab erased, I would estimate it at 40% or even 50% erased. I'm talking about a holographic sticker on NGC. I'm not collect for such coins and I wanted to buy it for resale more. How much do you think the price drops if the holographic sticker is half erased ?

Those old-style external holographic stickers are notorious for getting torn or worn off. I've seen them torn off by tape or labels affixed by dealers (Heritage lot number labels used to be really bad about tearing off the holograms). Also, if someone polishes the holder and isn't careful with those, they can also polish away part of the hologram (I'm guilty of that last one...).

It shouldn't affect the price; some dealers will mention it for completeness, similar to mentioning minor damage in the stacking edges of the holders, but I don't feel it really matters much. If someone is bothered by it, they can always get it re-holdered...

By the way, here's my worst (best?) example - it's actually a PCGS holder with an external hologram sticker, and you can see the hologram is mostly gone. While it appears to have been scratched off, it was actually done when peeling the Heritage lot number sticker off of the holder back in 2017.

The safest way for this situation would be to
value the coin as if it was not in a slab.

"Buy the coin, not the slab / sticker".

Hookiefan_82 has it right, these are mostly caused by inventory stickers being put on the top of the old holographs and they peeled or pulled off when the inventory sticker was removed. The older NGC holders had the holograph on the outside, now they are all under the outside plastic I believe. PCGS has done them differently as well over the lifetime of various renditions of the slabs produced.

This club newsletter has a good article on the various history of slabs: https://nnp.wustl.edu/library/book/568925?page=22

and this book lists the sample slabs put put, but still has a lot of good information on regular slabs as well: https://nnp.wustl.edu/library/book/553300

Slerk, that is a bit of an odd one, as that appears to be one of the internal holographic labels (inside the plastic case). I can't really explain why an internal label would look like that.

That would be of no concern to me.
