Just seen this penny it's all about the two in the small date year 1982. Anybody think the same.

whar does it weigh. i.e. is it copper or zinc?

Looks like a Small date. You can also see some difference in the top of the "8" between the two versions. Now if it copper and not copper over zinc, you might have a good find !

I go by the top circle of the 8,on the SD it is smaller than a LD.Yours is a SD and looks like a zinc 2.5 grams +/- .10 grams.

You can also tell by the gap of the tail of the 2 to the rim. Big gap = small date, small gap = large date.

and yes, your coin is a small date zinc coin.

As above, it's a small date, '82 D Memorial cent. An accurate weight--to two decimal places--will tell us much.

Ok I finally got a hold of some digital scales and it weighs 3.11 I'm going to add two more pictures, I have both of these in my possession. Notice the difference between the two and the rim of the coin.and the suspected small date does weigh 3.11

I would suggest finding another scale, that coin is a copper coated zinc.

You can buy a scale for not much money. Get one that goes down to 0.001 grams.

Can you post up another picture of your cent on the scale for us? please show the entire scale and read out.
