Steplike doubling that serves to reduce the width of design elements (like on this coin) is Machine Doubling.

Listing for dimes is pretty much hit and mostly miss. When you are the outside edges of the devices to be affected, it is Machine Doubling most of the time. Look for the spread on the centers of the devices, not on the outside edges of devices. (outside edges of the devices are most often affected by Machine Doubling or die wear when it is towards the rim) Your coin is Machine Doubling.

Note the non underlined listings. Those have no DDR examples on those years. Knowing what years and what to look for will save you a lot of eye strain. The more you know, the more time you will save not looking at dimes that are dud years.
