This one came my way. I won't say how. Any value here over melt? Grades below Good I'd say. Where am I here? uploaded/Dowhat/20230509_20230509_200207_762218_CS-2774.jpg[/img There is about a 10-12% rotation, not that it really matters. Looking for a fair value to determine how bad I got burned again.

FR details (scratched), if indeed there is such a grade. Just a curiosity, perhaps worth more than bullion to someone.

The reverse image didn't load correctly because of some missing formatting. This should display the image correctly.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Harsh cleaning on this one, Sorry. Lots of scratches, very near a low a low ball, to me.

That reverse no doubt slides this one into Fair.
FR details

Numismedia lists G4 at $29 so for FR-AG Details it seems like anything over $10 would be too much.

The kind of type coins I started out collecting many years ago looked like this because that's all I could afford! But it's still a neat piece of American history. Must have been through many hands over the years to get that worn.
Fair details, cleaned, and obverse has a scratch. Put it on a windowsill for a few years and see if it darkens back up a bit.

I want to thank you all for your input. Here is a little back story for making this purchase. My foremost category numismatically is varieties & errors. Primarily Lincoln cents (alot to look for.) I have never purchased an error or variety coin. What I have, I found searching. Until I saw this one. Up for auction thru Hibid Auctions from another auction house as an 1853 seated liberty qtr./ rotated dies. The images provided gave the impression rotation was at or near 180°. Suddenly, this barely gradable melt coin grabs my attention. Even a coin in this condition with upside down opposing dies must have a decent premium, right? A little homework on rotateddies.com (a pretty comprehensive list) show no examples of this year. So I jumped on it. It was not until later that I realized that this was a single year issue and any others like it would have surely been discovered. Not until the last minute was there another bidder when my bid of $5 was winning. It escalated from $5 to $35 from one other bidder which must have been the previous owner or the auction house itself. So now it is mine, worth the 5 bucks, maybe, that I started at. Live and learn.
