What I have here is a 1958-P Washington quarter with Type B Proof Reverse.
I've had this coin just sitting in my collection for months because I thought the toning looked interesting but it wasn't until recently that I have discovered that it has a Type B reverse on it and it does appear to have potential to get a high mint state grade if I were to send it in for grading.
Ive decided that it would be best if I dip the coin in E-Z-est and rinse it in distilled water to remove the blotchy toning and here is the before and after.....
Any tips for what I can do next to get this coin looking blast white? The toning is really caked on this coin. Should I try to use MS70?

Well it cleaned up fairly nice. I can still see the big scratch on the left side on the fields going through the Motto (IGWT).
I'm not sure if this is a business strike or an impaired proof.
I'm going to post up what I just typed and go back and study the different types of reverses this year quarter had.

Well it certainly looks like a type B reverse - the devices are nice and sharp and well defined. Next thing to determine if this is a business or a proof strike.

Yeah, I call a standard circulation strike with a proof reverse, does not look like a proof strike to me

A proof strike has two strikes, making the definition a lot stronger than a business strike.

The second strike enhances the devices more on a proof strike. So a single strike coin, with the proof Type B reverse.

This it is a normal strike. It is Type B IIo RDV-002.
IMHO your coin do not pass MS-64, so is not worth to be send.

Also pay attention with dipping because I see more and more those coins come back with Detail. So risky.
