Here's a 1908-S Indian cent that came in a lot of Indian Head cents that I won recently. With that said, I am not certain that this coin is genuine. I wanted to get everyone else's thoughts.

The denticles below the date and the mint mark look suspect to me. The mint mark seems too tall and narrow. Could be your images though. I'm comparing with Heritage images and it seems to occupy more vertical space than it should.

Here's an image of the reverse. It's a bit fuzzy since it was taken under my scope, but it should at least give a better assessment of the positioning of the mintmark. I wouldn't have bought the lot if I had close-up pictures of these coins. Fortunately, I only paid about $30 for a lot of 15 Indian Head cents. I knew the lot included the 1868, but the 1870 and 1908-S weren't advertised. The dates just look a little bit off to me. If they are fake, they seem to be pretty good fakes though.

I tried to size these to be the same but look at Heritage archives for quality images (register with a free login to see their larger images). I'm not an IHC expert so I don't know if there was a different mint mark style used in 1908. But draw an imaginary box around the S and see the difference in height versus width, and the relative space between ribbon and S, and denticles and S. (Notice that the denticles on yours here look like junk as well...)

Looks suspicious, but a sharper closeup is really needed.

Not an IHC expert at all, but the font, date and MM look off. I would say this is counterfeit.

Looking at all three it's easy to see why a lot with 1868 1870 and a 1908-S went for thirty bucks.

The original lot didn't even indicate that the 1870 or 1908-S were present. Not only that, but there was only a single picture of the entire lot (no close-ups). Unfortunately, I don't have a scale. I need to get one.

Do all 15 of them look like this one?

No, the other 12 to 15 are common dates in the G-VG range (genuine).
