Hello All,
I found this coin in my pocket change today and I noticed it looks larger than the other quarters that I have, hence my question about the broad strike.
Also, there seems to be two cracks in the 6 in the year 1965, please confirm.
The "I" in IN GOD WE TRUST seems to be missing.
On the obverse, are the "O, D & W" in IN GOD WE TRUST double died?
On the reverse, is the "U" in Quarter double died?
Lastly, when I held the quarter up and looked at it directly, it seemed edge wasn't flat.
After I took a better look, and a picture, it looks like there are some tiny extra drops of copper there? Is that normal?
As always, thank you kindly for your help.

Lot's of good questions - but everything you are seeing can be explained as circulation wear/damage over the coins 58 year life.

To your specific question of broadstruck - your edge photo shows at least partial reeding so it was struck at least partially in the collar.

I can't say from the photos if the remaining flat edge is due to wear or strike issues.

@1coi, I agree with this all being most likely attributable to damage, but can you please tell us the diameter? Thx.

Do you know what the term, broadstruck, means?

Another term for it is struck out of the collar. With out the restraining collar, the coin will be larger than normal and not have the reeded edge.

Can you post up an image next to a 'normal' quarter of similar date time frame to show the size differences?

I'm seeing a lot of circulation damage on this coin. As for Broadstruck? no most likely not as I can see the reeding on the edge. However the reeding seems to be 'missing' from the Copper exposed area of the edge - which could be explained away by saying that the copper is a softer metal than the cladding and could have been worn away while in circulation.
