This is a BU 1955 D. Not sure what caused the damage on the skull... die crack(s), or retained interior die break, or something else?

Anyway, I put this one in a flip. I think I'll keep it.

(If I posted too many pictures, please let me know and I'll post fewer next time to show only full obv, full rev, and pics specific to my question. I posted the rest in case anyone saw anything I may be missing.)

Thanks!

These are die events. The die was normal, then experienced a crack as the die ages. It is often to have one, but as the die is continued to be kept in use, then more can be seen. The most I've noticed is "9."

I feel these have no premium for them, as they are common to find. New collectors go gaga over them, but eventually they catch on these are common die events. (1950's Wheat cents were over used during that time)

CoopHome: Why are die crack common on some designs? over usage of dies and come designs will also tend to have these from the die clash events. the Memorial cents are often affected. possibly because of the 4 corners on the outline of the die. thus they crack more often on this design.

You called it (retained interior die break) or RIDB as it has been abbreviated.
It seem to be somewhat common in the 1955 dies.
