1984 D Quarter, No Rim? - Coin Community Forum

hechiblue New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 05/23/2023 10:08 pm Hi, I'm new to this and am learning terminology and types of errors etc. I have a 1984 D quarter similar where it appears to not have a rim and the "IN" in god we trust is merged also the mint "D" is filled in as well as the "A"in America on the reverse. Can whoever is patient help me to understand if it is a mint error or not and explain a little either way? I'm new here and do intend to sell my coins eventually than collect as I need extra money. Before you ask I did see a TikTok about pocket change. Having worked for tips and cash register (per the info/descriptions I've seen I now know that I let thousands of dollars slip thru my fingers just writing it off as a circulation issue save for a few. Always had the thought "well that's cool".) I recently worked in a place that didn't take credit cards so all cash. I received some of my coins in tips and others I deliberately bought from the register having noticed they appeared to be pretty nice for their age. Mostly pennies. I've handled cash enough I can feel the difference between older coins and newer ones (I'm not claiming this as expertise lol I just have been operating cassh registers since the early 80s so just volume conditioning so to speak). I'll share a detailed photo of my version of this 1984 D quarter.I really appreciate your time and patience.
