larger images will help us here. hard to see any detail on these provided images.

I think it might be because the coin has a little higher relief than current cents which are rather flat. Near unc cents of this age are rare to find in circulation so it may be the OP's first encounter with the older Lincoln Cent obverse.

to me the lettering looks too big and Lincoln in the center looks like hes missing a leg or sttting to one side.

Ok, yes, Lincoln's posture does appear to be a bit odd here. Hard to tell, but maybe the legs took a hit and moved the metal around.
A closeup would help.
