Jhk369,

Looks like a Grease Filled Die issue. I do not know if all the missing FG coins are because of grease or over polishing or not. Are any of the no FG coins actual errors?

It might instead be the case, that FG was lightly struck and the ton of circulation wear has removed the remnants on this half dollar.
