I was given this interesting error a couple of years ago, found from circulation (not my find though). It is a dime with no reeding and slightly off center. So I was wondering if there was anything else wrong with it other than the missing reeding and being off center. Also, how exactly would an error like this happen? Thanks!

Sorry about no picture of the reverse, I can get one posted tomorrow.

Reminiscent of a broadstrike in several ways. What is the diameter?

Visually it does almost look broadstruck, but the circumference seems, well, circular. What does the reverse look like? A misaligned die will offset the face or reverse, but this is a lot. I would guess vertical misaslignment (tilted die strike). One side is fine, one side is mush. Are there any reeds at all along the perimeter? Some would suggest the planchet was partially seated, none would point to different errors.

yep, nice off center strike, no reeding, might mean it was a partial collar or out of collar strike.

I agree with Dearborn, especially the part about this one being a partial collar strike. This coin looks to have been on the collar as it was being struck
