Would PCGS be grading it if it wasn't a legit error?

Same train of thought as CoinHI, does error/variety attribution take place before or after grading?

@ nfine:
The error is the first step if you do not ask restoration. At PCGS it is and also believe others,: 1.Restoration, 2. Variety 3. Grading. Other step it is on receiving the coin is Authentication as legitim coin.

I wonder if they even give it a alpha/numerical grade number.

Very interesting. I don't usually check this sub-forum. I notice that the (presumed) last strike has two different curves at the edge, with a dent where they intersect. One of the curves seems to have a smaller radius than the rest of the edges. Explanation?
