NumisEd's map shows silver mines only but there are two main ways to produce silver. The first are mines that produce silver only. The second are mines that produce silver as a byproduct of mining for copper, lead or zinc. China gets a lot of it's silver from the second method but they are still the second largest producer of silver in the world.
