You may have seen this in my coin shown thread. Thought I would share it here to get some opinions on grade. That spot on the reverse above the E in cents is more prominent than I thought initially.

The photos make it appear to be flat without any luster. Does it have any luster in hand?

I see rub on the cheek and jawbone so I'm going AU55.

I do enjoy the die crack through the mintmark - makes this into a $ nickel which is rather common for the War Nickel series but still a fun novelty.

Unfortunately I didn't get a good luster angle outside of the flip but below is a pic of the luster in the flip. Definitely has full brilliant luster across the coin for what it's worth.

I'll say not less than AU-58.

If that's not wear on the cheek and jaw, I'd say MS-64/65. Good luster, moderate strike quality, no significant bag marks or scratches.

If that is indeed wear on the jaw and cheek—which seems odd because the hair is untouched—then it's got to be AU-58.

In either case, a very nice War Nickel. The die crack is also cool.

Note: I am assuming that the vertical scratch forward of the ear is on the flip, not the coin, because it isn't visible in the first picture.
