That's an awesome gift Silviosi! Is it worth 10K?!?!?! Not so sure?

I remember one of those phones at my aunt's house! I loved it then too, but I found it took longer than normal to make a call! Waiting for the dial to go around. Imagine today

One thing for sure, those phones lasted MUCH longer than ones they make these days.

In my opinion, everything is made to break within a year or 2 these days. I think it's done intentionally!!!

To show off to my friends, I would make calls by "tapping" the hook mechanism to emulate what the rotary dial is actually doing.

Yes, we did that too. There was also a sequence you could do and hang up, and make the phone ring. Mom got fed up with that trick rather quickly.

My parents used that rotary phone for 40 years. If I remember right, Ma Bell owned the phone, so if it broke they'd have to replace it. Probably why they were so reliable.

Sounds like we both pulled from the same bag of tricks.

My wife and I celebrated our 50th anniversary this June. We rented a winery as a venue, hired an Elvis impersonator to remarry us, and had a grand time.

Although we were not expecting nor asked for gifts, most brought something. One guest with a wry humor brought the following:
