I've attached a few photos of the coin in question, specifically the reverse and a couple cropped photos of the "A" in America which has obvious doubling. My question is do you think it's mechanical or from a doubled die?

Based off your knowledge of doubled dies, does it look mechanical to you?

Generally speaking it seems like hub doubling of a single letter would be pretty unusual. I'm inclined to think it's a contact mark that happens to be parallel to the A.

As I said,Morgans are not my area. I do not see how only a single letter can be doubled and that coin being considered a doubled die. Did they retool Morgans?Who is our Morgan expert?

Thanks for the input. I agree the single letter being the only major doubling is peculiar but it's def there. Any additional info is greatly appreciated. Thanks again in advance.
