ah ok, didn't know that - let me go and try what I was planning (in the morning)
So, can you post up a good image of your coin - a close up?

Dearborn:

http://goccf.com/t/448904#3871437 has the latest images. Pretty challenging to balance a phone and magnifying glass to get those last two images. The first one is a microscopic view.

I think you would get a much better photo result by sticking a memory card in your microscope.

Yoko's presentation is based on the image in the link I provided which is someone else's coin.

My coin is very different in eye location, etc. annd posted in the last three images enlarged.

No, this is a Photoshop Overlay of the coin image you supplied in the original post. I copied your image into Photoshop and then created a layer from the damaged area. The damage has a different shape than Lincoln's eye. I then animated the overlay showing the differences.

The original image shows several contact marks in addition to the false 'eye' that match the size and shape of each other. I think your coin is showing Post Strike Damage, not doubling.

Dearborn is correct that I was showing why this doesn't match. I didn't use anything from the link as it's nothing like your coin.

If you look closely your overlay "eye" is not the same as the eye in the NW since you over extended it. If you would line up the eye better it would be a perfect fit since the NW eye is actually partial not whole, but still a portion of it. This is why I thought you were using the other image.

The microscope scan really would reflect that since I got it to show using Photoshop myself. Will try to get a better scope scan once I get a memory card to give a much better example since my picture is not detailed enough.

It's an exact copy of the area that you think is an eye. I didn't extend any part of the overlay. It just doesn't match.

Yes you did an exact copy, but you over extended it too far to the right. I will show you in a few days what I mean.
