If you think that cent is worth $100 go for it. I wouldn't.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

You are showing us common date coins in AU condition - worth face value in general. What causes you to think this coin could be worth spending the $$ it would take for certification?

Thump1, Have you read what the general rule is for sending in a coin to get graded? John1

Given the posted pics, I wouldn't recommend a submission. Photos are somewhat difficult to assess, but I don't believe the coin falls in the high MS state. Coin would serve nicely as an album hole filler until better comes along.

I was under assumption since it was a shiny brand new penny that it was a needle and haystack. Still learning I won't waste your time I'll do a little more research before I post anything

Quote: I won't waste your time I'll do a little more research before I post anything Feel free to post anything you want - we'll respond as appropriate. What reference books do you have? I suggest a current copy of the Red Book to give you a broad perspective of the relative values & rarity of US coins.
