Hey, I have just inherited a large collection of coins and I was wondering the value of this coin. Any feedback would be helpful.

If you could please rotate the pictures for proper viewing that would be helpful. Obverse looks a little grainy and mushy and the reverse appears to show the proper pee stream marker. I'd have to compare the mm to a genuine example and the sideways pictures are making this difficult. Assuming it is genuine and the condition between VF and XF, a ballpark figure would be between $600-$800 for a raw coin. I am not seeing the rough hind leg that this coin should have so I am suspect until I see better images and correctly oriented. Closeups of the MM, the pee stream, and the hind legs along with the missing front leg.

Could you take it out of the 2x2 and re-photograph it and weigh it? I'm not sure what's going on with the rim, and the entire coin has a weird grainy, cast-like appearance. The back leg also doesn't look quite as mottled as it should be. All the markers otherwise look pretty good.

Appears to be genuine to these old eyes. My only concern is the brownish tint around the devices on the reverse of the coin and if it is corrosion of some sort. I would be at VF35 to XF40 with possible environmental damage.
I would not be ashamed to own it if I were you as long as you got it at a fair price.
Nice coin no matter what it ends up grading!

After closer inspection and without closeups, I am inclined to believe that this coin is genuine despite the mushy obverse appearance. On the reverse the pee stream marker is evident as well as the P and U not touching the bison's back. I would grade this as VF-35. PCGS slabbed value is $850, less for a raw coin. I would suggest sending it to one of the TPG's for authentication.

I just viewed this on my computer monitor, and I also think it's genuine. The rim issue is just overlapping cardboard from the 2x2, and the surfaces just have some reddish granular toning. I'd say this makes XF-40, nice coin!
