It may not be apparent but this coin is actually pretty scarce. Nobody saved 1967 quarters and the few who wanted one got them out of the SMS's. This makes the circulation coins quite tough and even ugly ones command as much as $10 in BU. Now days most of the '67 quarters made for circulation are gone forever or worn thin. They were only intended to last about 30 years and it's been nearly double this. Finding a nicer one in circulation would require you to look through a few boxes of quarters and there are simply no sellers and no supply. The coin should bring a few dollars on ebay but the costs of selling make this prohibitive for most people. So most of these coins are simply spent as they get rarer and rarer with each passing year as the price guides list them for 25C each.

From the photo it appears to be a nice well made and high end VF.
Most in circulation can charitably be graded VG and nearly 40% are culls. Indeed, more than 95% are culls if you include being covered in tiny little scratches as being culls. This is what the 400,000,000 survivors look like. Good luck finding nice examples in any grade at all, much less VF.

I've been watching this date recently. MS-60's are routinely retailing for 7 or $8 but I've seen $10. A few sellers offer chBU for more but I don't see offers to sell Gems or graded coins. https://davescollectiblecoins.com/p...s-2/page/20/Very few moderns are moving at wholesale proices and much of the activity is at retail.

Numismedia suggests that only over MS62 ($2.30) seems worth holding in general and a MS64 or higher would certainly be worthwhile. At 29-69 cents below that its probably not worth it to many to deal with. I've wondered many times when to pull higher potential grade coins or not as so many moderns seem to be listed below $1 value although at retail some may increase due to lower availability elsewhere. But to photo, list, sell, and ship plus the fees taken out I'm wondering how many would like to get involved with that.

Kind of amusing. The last two weeks of rummaging through quarter rolls had me come across at least five or six '67s--all in the F to VF range. They served well as I dropped them into the car wash timer the other day.

These things really don't have much value but the reason isn't that they are common but rather that so few people collect them. Their scarcity is the reason that most trade at retail. You just can't go into any coin shop and buy an XF or and Unc '67 quarter. Indeed, there are very few places to buy them so sellers can charge retail. If moderns ever get popular we'll see vastly new pricing for things like pristine 1968 and '84 cents as well as VF '67 quarters.

I don't think that in the near future the coins of 67-69 will be worth good money. People just aren't interested in them yet.

I do A LOT of CRH and coins such as the 1968-D, 1969 Philly, and 1969-D quarters are actually pretty hard to find in higher circulated grades... And 1969 Philly dimes actually do have a market - I sold a roll of problem-free circs on ebay for $30 a couple of months ago.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!
