Any thoughts on the 2023 Denver extra V? I have found 3. All in the same spot. East of VBD. This one is very faint compared to the other two. I sold one and have two in all like this now. I have found some other error coins " different die" with the V north of B.

@fran, are you thinking that this is a dropped letter from the VDB?

Hi, I do not. I just keep finding them. What is strange is that they all have the same die markers.

Some pix of the 2nd 2023 D extra V East. This one has different die markers. Note the V is a little East/North East than the 1st coin.

These VDB V cents are becoming quite common - the more that are found the less rare, and thus lower a premium.

Hi, Yes I agree. The 2023 P extra V;s will go down in price The 1st one I had I sold for $90 and received + feed back. Now the person put it up for $299 of $800 buy it now. I have the 2nd identical Extra V up for $89.99 or best offer. LOL

Here's Mike Diamond's response after emailing him with this thread.

Hi David.

Mr. Bauman has posted photos of two 2023-D cents, each with a "V" in a different position. This suggests that they were tapped-in or scratched-in after the coins left the Mint.

Hi, Is it possible that it may be ejection doubling? They came out of a BU roll and I did not tamper with them. Let me know what you think and thanks, Frank

The distance between the normal V and your extraneous Vs seems too great for ejection doubling to be a likely explanation. There's also no reason that only this letter would show up, and it's highly unlikely that it would line up with the normal initials. Since the obverse die was the anvil die, ejection impact doubling is also unlikely, as it's always restricted to the face struck by the hammer die. Stray contact marks are common on BU cents. Is it possible that you have been inspecting these cents closely and only noticed those accidental contact marks that resemble a V?

Hi, It would be great if Mike Diamond could take a look at the 2015 D satin OBV that I put up. I could send him several examples in the mail but I do not have his info. Let me know what can be done. Thanks, Frank B.

Hi, I made a post about it. It is 2015 D satin OBV. I put it up today. Let me know if you see it. Also I have it on E bay. There more pix and the pix on that have a lot more detail. It is of the same error but two different coins. I only say that because it may help seeing two different examples. Thank you so much, Frank

@ Franks, I'm reasonably certain that Mike Diamond is not going the have a look at every coin you post up, unless there is something super remarkable about it.
