Don't know much about Ole Merc, but would this be considered for a full band designation should I register the coin?

@sbg, I'm moving your thread over to the grading subforum, since it sounds like your questions mainly revolve around the grade rather than the presence of potential mint errors.

With regard to this specific coin, I believe that for a die to have fully split bands, there must be an uninterrupted space between the horizontal bands. Yours seems to lack this feature, especially on the top and bottom pairs.

I'd say no, not Full Bands.

Doesn't the FSB designation only apply to uncirculated coins?

correct coinfrog

Sbglobal, if when you say register the coin if you mean have it professionally graded, the simple answer is no. there are two reasons to slab a coin.

1. its a rare coin and needs preservation
2. the value of the coin exceeds $150 and you plan on selling it. any less and the cost of grading/shipping & insurance will chew up a good amount of the value of the coin

your coin does not fall into either one of these. your photos are a little small but the coin appears to in the VF35 maybe XF40 range. a 44D in this condition would retail for about $4

Not even close to a FSB Mercury dime, no need to grade it either.
