So I'm wondering if it'd even be worth it. I've seen a MS67 and a MS68 and while I know absolutely nothing about grading, I do believe mine looks better.. Also also a different VDB V penny looks like it got scratched up on the edge. Is that just random damage? (Last 2 images) I found these in a new 2023 N.F. String & Son penny roll btw

Too much flashback to see surface details clearly. to the CCF!

IMO, the scrapes on the rim above Liberty and the hit behind Abe's head keep this out of the range of a coin worth the grading fees.

Deep field hit behind the head and some damage to rim in that area. Not a bad looking example but it's considered damaged IMO.

Not worth grading IMHO. They are also becoming more common, as more examples are being found.

The first coin looks very nice but we'll need much better closeups of both the front and back of the coin. The second coin has some bad rim damage and a big hit behind Lincoln's head, so I definitely don't think it's worth getting that one graded.

to the CCF Nice looking examples - your photos are too bright to see the surfaces for grading purposes.

i think there is some confusion about your post. after re-reading it several times I understand you are posting 2 coins with the V error here. the the second coin is definitely damaged and not worth slabbing. the first coin photos have too much glare to see the surfaces for assessment. there may be some rim damage on your first coin as well but impossible to tell retake the photos using the following if using a phone and provide both sides of the coin 1. if coin is in holder, remove coin from holder if possible 2. turn off flash 3. place coin on flat surface with indirect natural light. maybe a window sill in a cloudy day. Use a black or white background to avoid any reflective color 4. move phone about 3in from coin 5. zoom in using your fingers until the coin comes into focus and fills the cameras view finder. if your phone has a portrait selection use that and then press and hold on the coin in the view finder to AF lock it 6. hold phone steady. if you cant then place something on either side of the coin (like books) at that distance and lay phone between them. this will hold it steady and allow you to zoom and take the photo without any blurring

Closer inspection shows several nicks - just a spender.

Not a spender, it's an Extra V cent. The pictures aren't great, but the obverse looks like it could definitely be MS67 quality, we need clear pictures of the reverse to fully determine a grade though.

A full, large and sharp image of the reverse might prove useful.

It definitely carry's a premium above the face value but not worth getting it slabbed, and not as high grade as MS-67 as been mentioned to be.

@Chase007 I don't see anything in the pictures they've provided that would necessarily hold it back from that. Keep in mind I'm referring to the coin in the first three images, the two after that show a completely different cent which does has significant damage to it.

@ CP1 , I do not intend to divert from the main topic, but the scrapes on the edge to the left of LIBERTY, contact marks, a deep one to the top right of the Y and scrape marks on the lower Jaw, all take down the grade....
