@tra, I'm not seeing a Cud. Where along the rim do you see this? Maybe near LIBERTY? If so, can you please give us a nice close-up of that region? Thx.

Also, a photo of the reverse might be useful. Thanks.

you need to zoom out a tiny bit to get the entire coin in the frame. (both sides, please)

Going with these pics I do not think it is a Cud. Maybe a plating issue. John1

Not seeing a Cud. Sharper images would help.

Still needing better images. Try to center that part of the cent by liberty in the image - not over by the edge of it. Also can you post up an image of the edge of that area too? In addition - the ones you posted are a bit dark - can you use better lighting, but not so much it creates glare?

I agree this might be a plating issue. @tra, does it depress when you push on it with the tip of a wooden toothpick?

Y'all, I did the best I could. Using the photo optimizer isn't easy. And the coin is pretty dark. Plus my camera sucks. But thanks for your insight.

I wish I could capture how beautiful this coin really is. It's has a beautiful shiny multi-tone color.

to the CCF! The coin looks like it was expose to heat. The colors and pattern look like someone used a lighter to heat the copper to the point that it began to discolor. This could have caused the hourglass shape of colors on the surface. The heat could also have caused the copper plating to lift away from the zinc core leaving the plating anomaly. I think it's just Post Mint Damage or PMD.
