Seller's pics. He says it's an N-9, but it looks more like an N-27 to me. The problem is that Grellman's book showing N-27 makes no mention of the extensive die crack that nearly circles the reverse. His description of the doubled elements of N-27 matches almost exactly though. I will note that the base of the "T" in United looks tripled, not doubled, to me, however. Opinions? cant help with attribution but looks like a solid XF45 and may be sharp enough to make AU.

Don't see the die doubling in the N-8. This coin has legit die doubling.

N-8 has pronounced doubling of STATES OF on the reverse.

I stand corrected - reference picture is from a better example. Must have been looking at the wrong link. Yes I see exactly what you all mean about N-8. That is clearly the variety of my coin. Thanks for setting me straight. I believe my coin makes low AU. I still think the base of the "T" in "United" looks to be tripled, not doubled, on my coin. Thoughts?

Looks to me like it has AU-53 sharpness, although I'm not certain of the originality of the obverse surfaces.

Obverse cleaned, AU sharpness.
I personally like this one. Couple of very minor tiny scratches above the head. There is enough sharpness left to see all of the die features.

Here's what Grellman says in his 2020 die varieties book. I see the elongated lump to the right of the eye, but not much else on the obverse.

If you bet me $25 this coin hadn't been cleaned or recolored I'd take the bet all day long.

I take that to mean that you do think it's been cleaned, paralyse. I own it, but it hasn't arrived yet. Will post new pictures when it's in-hand. I bought it for details and doubled die variety. Guess we'll see.
