Trying to get the hang of this new photo system. Not easy like it used to be. This is a coin I'm getting ready to list. What do you think the grade is and its value. Thanks ! Oregon coin geek.....*** GO BEAVS ! ! ! ***

I'd say solid G4 as there is almost none of the LIBERTY on the headdress. I would get it slabbed as even in the condition it is in its value is north of $500 and many counterfeits exist.

Sharper images would help, but I'll say VG-08.

Im in at VG10. This is the better of two die combinations with better detail in "America". Great problem free coin and will command good money. I have no issues with authenticity, but it might be worth the money to get it graded to attract more people. Worth about $1000. I would ask $1100 and setter for $1000.

I started it at .99 cents. I kinda like doing that. This is from album number 2. Sold three albums so far out of the five I had.

I am wondering what you guys are seeing that is justifying the VG grades. I was under the impression that if you are not able to see any of the LIBERTY that it is not eligible for a grade higher than G-6.

The PCGS coin for VG10 is almost a duplicate to this one.

Quote: I was under the impression that if you are not able to see any of the LIBERTY that it is not eligible for a grade higher than G-6. not true. you need to look at the coin in its entirety. a weakly struck coin could look like wear. look at all the devices in this case look a the detail in the feathers. much more detail than you will ever see on a G6 coin. the letters are more rounded and sharp than a G coin as well. on the reverse the upper part of the wreath on both sides is stronger than a G. you have some weakness in strike on this coin look at the overall coin not just one marker i'd call this one VG10 as well

Yeah this is pretty much textbook VG10. I see three letters partially in Liberty which is my qualification for VG 10.

I guess it has to do with the picture quality. I definitely do see some of the letters in LIBERTY. I'll change my grade to a VG-10. Probably a $900 coin in that condition. I would definitely have this graded by a reputable service.

audience is smaller but why not try to sell it on here? Save the $100 plus that e-bay will collect.

The PCGS version for VG-10 has substandially more ribbon separation, which is dead smooth here. Horizontal shield lines almost gone. Not even 3 full letters in Liberty. I'll stick with VG-08. Agree I am nitpickping and this distinction has little to do with value.
