Every year that I've been a CCF member, there has been a topic where people are invited to post coins from 100 years ago... I've just realized no-one seems to have started one for 1923! So here goes - post your coins dated 1923! I'll start the ball rolling with a British shilling:  |

1723 Ireland George I half penny. Oops, missed by 200 years - sorry about that! Actually this is a probably a contemporary counterfeit, as it weighs 3.59 g as opposed to the nominal 7 g.  Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

From my OFEC collection (300), Danzig... The Free City of Danzig (German: Freie Stadt Danzig; Polish: Wolne Miasto Gda#324;sk) was a city-state under the protection of the League of Nations between 1920 and 1939, consisting of the Baltic Sea port of Danzig (now Gda#324;sk, Poland) and nearly 200 other small localities in the surrounding areas.  |

The VERY FIRST coin I collected - from my parent's "penny jar" back in the '60s. They had no idea how it got there. As you can see, I still have it after all these years. 1923 France Chambres de Commerce Bon Pour 50 centimes  Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
