I saw this coin on one of the Facebook coin groups. Does this 1912 10 cent piece look real? The condition is unreal. I feel the two is off, on 1912 on the reverse, and the letters D and I, in DEI on the obverse doesn't look right. Thoughts? Edited by Coinsplus 07/19/2023 08:06 am

The photo is blurry, but the 2 looks a little large, but it could be reflection. A 1912 is a common coin. No one would try to make a 2 there to beef up the value.

Hard to tell for sure if the coin is genuine but even if it was, the luster seems too silky/intense compared to the other 1912 Ive see seen so its likely been whizzed. Lots of red flags for the price...

Can you post cropped and in focus images? We could give you more informed answers if you could.

Is the lettering around the outside of the obverse maybe larger than expected?

Hi guys, I appreciate the feedback, and yes Nickelsguy (so well respected in counterfeits) - if he says fake, it's a fake. The lustre is too good to be true! I have seen blast white gems, but this one is way too bright, with almost like mirror background. The seller on Facebook added a couple of new pics.

Should be very easy ti ID as a whizzed coin.
I'm really surprised I'm the first to mention it so late in the post.

I'm really surprised I'm the first to mention it so late in the post. Dollar1935 was first, not that it matters, if it's whizzed then it's a Chinese fake that's been whizzed
