I am excluding the 1895 proof and the 1893-S. I don't believe I'll ever fork over the money to get them. I'm shooting for two years or less to get the remaining six.Wish me luck! Edited by FlyingTiger 07/21/2023 5:38 pm

Here's something a lot of us really don't think about. This coin is 129 years old. Where was this coin when I was in elementary school and who had possession of it? Where was this coin when I was in college? How many people had possession of this coin and how did it stay so nice? Wouldn't it be fun if there was a way we could find these things out.

Another one down, WTG! Quote: Where was this coin when I was in elementary school and who had possession of it? Where was this coin when I was in college? How many people had possession of this coin and how did it stay so nice? I agree, every time I look at or buy a coin or bill.

Great accomplishment!!!! I only have the 93-s and 87/86 overdates to complete mine. Then I'll start upgrading where I need to. Morgan's are addictive.

Congratulations and Happy Hunting to both @FlyingTiger and @Pmint1. While I chose early this year to collect Morgan's that are graded by a TPG, I chose to take the "easy way out" by putting together a DATE Set. Needing only one coin for each year means I need only 28 coins, and I can choose which mint for each year to get. Due to those two factors, I can then afford to buy higher grades. I have 20, with eight more left. There is no right or wrong way to collect. We each make decisions that make us most comfortable. As noted, I'm rooting for the two members mentioned above. Steve

Yeah, I get it. Collectors Corner has a 1893-S $1 VG8 NGC for $3.95K. A 1895-S $1 AG3 NGC for $345. And those are the cheapest ones.
I'll may have to make similar concessions in my New Orleans hunt.
