I looked all over the coin and there is no other doubling. Could it be MD or DDD in just this one spot.

I can post more pictures if it would help.

@ HeavyHog: You has a good point of observation.

I see your coin from begin, with no other signs. I came to DDD conclusion, because if was MD the rays (at least the first) was affected also. The DDD, MD and Mechanical Doubling it is the same category, but different dynamics.

Right, there are no other signs of MD or DDD on the reverse that I can see. The doubled arm seems to be unique.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this one?

HeavyHog: Yes it is only the arm. The modern Quarters design, has the DD's and the DDD on the center of the design. And this in 95% of the time. This it is due to the new horizontal presses.

Yes, but the arm is not near the center of the design.

I think that I will give this an acetone bath and then get it in a 2x2 just in case.

I'll also break out the scope and check some more of these to see if I can find another.

MD can happen to just a single device to the whole coin.
