New the site, and thank you for letting me join. I'm fairly certain this coin is not a real Pine Tree Shilling, and a copy of a NOE #1 My question is, is there any value to it? I know it's been in our family for decades, so it's not a recent copy. Just wanted some thoughts on it before I pay to have it graded. Sorry for the not great pics. Thanks David

The pros might need an in-focus photo and maybe a weight and size. John1

Thanks for your fast reply. When I reduced the file size, it got pretty blurry. The biggest thing I noticed was, one the condition is just to good. And two, there are only 7 dots below the date/XII most of the graded ones I see online have 9 dots.

I can keep trying, but for now I think this is as good as I can get it... sorry. Was hoping someone might be able to tell from the 7 not 9 dots below the date. Size seems correct, haven't been able to weigh it.

I just checked my Red Book, and your coin does not match the one there. John1

Check the edge for a seam, and if possible weigh it.

It's currently in my brother's safe. I've asked him for an edge pic. Mad I didn't think of that when I took the other pics. I've seen a few pics of coins similar to this one, but none of those are graded so they could easily be fake copies from the same mold. Not getting my hopes up... Thanks, David

If your brother has a scale, get him to weigh the coin while it's out of the safe.
