I saw this coin for sale, going cheap. The slab looks very suspect and I can't authenticate on the ANACS site. Any thoughts? Counterfeit? Thanks. "Nummi rari mira sunt, si sumptus ferre potes." - Christophorus filius Scotiae

The slab looks real as well as the coin inside. I was able to verify the cert & it brings up a 2019 s enhanced reverse proof 70 on anacs.

Thanks, @Jakes_Coins. What certification number did you enter? I tried to put all those numbers in there and it kept indicating that it was not listed.

Well, that's exactly what it has on the slab. I must have been suffering from sausage-finger syndrome. Thanks, again.

Hello, I see a Perfect 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof Coin. I Also see that the Label, Now Authenticated, States, 2019-S Anacs Enhanced RP70 DCAM Silver Eagle COA # " 18214 " A First Strike Coin * Limited Edition of 992. With All due Respect and Kindness Intended... My Question is This, I Too collect the American Silver Eagles Series Minted in or at a United States Mint, With A Mint Mark. Why would the Slab's Label state Limited Edition of " 992 " and on the Same Label it states, Certificate # " 18214...... Over 18,000 Certificates out there, at Least 18,000Coins out there Too, No ? Actual Mintage, Was Approx, 29, 909 for THIS coin . I collect in OGP and Slabs, This to me is Is this Odd to You or Any One ?

My guess is that there were 992 of these particular labels? No idea. In any event, I'm just after the coin (would prefer to have it in the OGP.) I already have one of these in the original packaging that I was able to purchase on release day from the Mint. But, if I can get this one for the price I'm predicting, it's worth picking up for speculation.

It's astounding that a group had that many of these coins to send in given the low mintage and mad dash to pick them up. I remember reading that one company was paying people to buy the coins for them. Perhaps it was that company?

Bump, I Too recall the Big Boys WERE buying All they could Get, People "sent " in 1000 +, Just 992 made the Grade...... These were Struck Well, The Mint Also Sold Out of These, While Anticipated Heavily, in 20 Minutes... According to the Mint, 99,000 People WERE on Line, With Another 4,700 people, On the Phone ready to Order These, When they went on Sale... The Mint reported that Customer's were having Problems Ordering, They were " Ready ".. A Coin World staff member tried to Place an Order , Knowing The Adventure would be Hair Raising and Found in Seconds, they got into the Sites Platform, Placed the Information Required and Before getting to a Confirmation, They LIKE Many others, Were Kicked Off, Again and Again...... Talk about an Adventure....

Could have been one of the tv/cable shopping channels that hype the coins selling them for higher prices than coin dealers. Seems NGC, PCGS, ANACS will make a special label for most anybody who wants to pay for them. Maybe I'll send some coins in, have a special label say "I don't like special labels" LOL.

Livingwater, I remember seeing Labels " From the Chapman collection " When I was A Sprout, Thinking, WOW, He Must be Some One Special, Come to find out, His Collection Was Not Rivaled by Many, He Had a Very Distinct Collecting Ability to Accuire Top Grades of Un Graded coins, In Their Original Mint Luster, Crisp Struck Grades, Exquisite Specimen Coins, He Had Them...He collected World Coins Too.... Fast forward to These days, In My Opinion, You are 100 % Correct, IF a Person has the $$, and they are Willing to Give that Cash to Them, The Third and Fourth Party Label Makers, Will Make them For You Too...... Third Party Graders Have their Profession to Uphold, Their services are held to Standards, That said, They have a Strong place in the Numismatic Authentication Business, They Provide Assurances, Where Some- One Might Not Know as Well.... . While I believe the Original Intentions of PCGS has Re-Routed , " PCGS was founded in 1985 by seven dealers, including the firm's former president, David Hall. The founders' intent was to establish definitive grading standards, backed by a guarantee of grading accuracy." I Thought Sight Un Seen. The Times, They are a Changin.....................
