Today I went to the bank and got my usual weekly coins. 6 rolls of pennies, a roll of Nickels, Dimes &Quarters for my coin hunt. I opened the first roll of pennies and out came all Lincoln shield cents! I said an expletive and searched through the 49 LSC and found one dark colored penny! So I said ok to myself and put it in the microscope field. Guess what, a 1902 Indian Head cent. First one I have ever found in 4 years. A 121-year-old penny! So what if it's bang up and got a couple of rim hits. It's a real beauty to me in spite of the wear and tear. Can't see Liberty on the headband on the obverse but the feathers are there. Check the pics, and let me know your thoughts and regards.

It's a great find, regardless of condition.

Yes it's got heavy circulation wear and some rim bruises, but at 121 years old, who doesn't? An excellent find—well done.

Bravo! Hmmm... that coin stuck in a roll with a bunch of Shield cents over 100 years younger? It must have been saying stuff to them like "Listen to me, you young whippersnappers!" and "Why, back in my day..."

Amazing find these days. But they're still out there - I release 30/40 into the wild every year.

That's very good of you to do that, Coinfrog. I'm curious--exactly how do you put them into circulation?

What an amazing thing to find still in circulation after all these years! Congrats.
