@Pete: The C-o-C link I posted above does make that distinction. Here is a direct quote from their site:

Pre Cuds
A "Pre Cud" is a precursor to most collectible of all die break errors called a Cud.
The Pre Cud starts out as a Rim to Rim Die Crack.
When the die break starts to show lateral spread and horizontal offset it now becomes a Retained Cud.
If the break separates from the die the result is a fully-fledged Cud.

Thank you @Dearborn I check the link and the photos you has post I really appreciate it.

Then pre Cud is a crack that it appears that is rim to rim but its not involved the rim, and a retained is a crach that comes from the rim.. Am I correct?
