Will this set have all versions of the Lincoln Cent? Even though I will be attempting to purchase the Lincoln set from the Mint when they become available, my luck generally isn't too good. So I was wondering about this set as it may be an alternate way for me to get them all...any one know for sure?

From the US Mint web site:

Quote:
The 2009 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin SetŪ includes two envelopes of 18 coins each; one from the United States Mint at Denver and the other from the United States Mint at Philadelphia, for a total of 36 coins. Each envelope contains four Presidential $1 Coins, six quarters from the District of Columbia and United States Territories Quarter Program, as well as four Lincoln cents (with an alloy consisting of 95% copper, 3% zinc and 2% tin that matches the alloy used in the 1907 cent), the Jefferson nickel, the Roosevelt dime, the Kennedy half-dollar, and the Golden Dollar featuring Sacagawea.

I am thinking also of buying an extra uncirculated set for 2009 so I can get the cents for my album.

Does anybody know the approximate time of the year they start selling the mint sets? Never bought one straight from the mint before but am thinking about it this year.

Clad proofs should be soon and the uncirculated mint sets will be in late june I think. silver proof sets have been coming out in August if I recall. It will at least give you an idea. I am sure also it will be discussed several times when the time is near for each one so just keep on the lookout. Check this 2009 Scheduled Products Listing

no one knows for certain how many different varieties of cents there will be but it will be at least 12 if there are only zinc p and d and copper proofs and as many as 24 if there are both copper and zinc versions from all mints

Main point here......it'll be the highest number of coins ever in an Uncirculated Mint Set.....and it has me wondering if I should get two or three, instead of just one !......

Irish, easiest thing to do would just be to go to the subscriptions section of the Mint website and subscribe to it. Then you won't have to fight the rush that will occur when they go on sale, and you will sure of getting them.
