@mich, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes I grew that this looks different from an authentic 1795 Dollar. Hopefully you didn't pay too much for it.

Better luck on your next find! My first coin as a kid was a genuine, low grade 1795 $1, three leaf variety, that my Dad found in an old trunk. I traded it to a local pastor for a bunch of coins, and he helped me get started in the hobby. It was valued at $40-$50 back in the mid fifties.
