Dateless-Standing-Liberty-Quarters?
Dateless-Standing-Liberty-Quarters?
What is the approach for Standing Liberty quarters that have no visible date? I know people use Nic-a-date on Buffalo nickels—which I have to say does not seem appealing—but is there another approach for silver coinage?

I can tell they are type 2/3 quarters just from the three stars under each Eagle. But I can't see the pedestal for flat vs. recessed. One is D, another S, but that doesn't seem to be anything special either.

All the quarters are poor grade, except for maybe the 1926 that got gnawed by a vending machine. Is there any value here beyond just silver content? I am thinking maybe these are good starter coins for kids in our family who express an interest in coin collecting.

IMO if it cannot be identified, it's bullion.

I agree just bullion in this condition, but as an entry into coin collecting for a kid, I think that this would be awesome!

Just worth bullion, and with that kind of wear you'll get less than you expect for the face falue.

Yes, just silver value, great coins for kids to have/learn. A few of my stack halves, quarters, dimes are worn that bad, no date visible. I weighed one, 13% weight loss.

As these are all T2/T3 issues, as others already said they're worth bullion value but, as you mention, would be something kids starting a collection would enjoy.
I look out for T1 dateless Standing Liberty quarters on the tiny chance I might come across a 1916, which has several minor obverse design differences compared to a 1917 T1.

Like others have stated, bullion value only here. And the normal face value multiplier doesn't apply here. These quarters are probably 10% worn away.
