Good morning everybody! I'm an Italian Middle-Ages coinage enthusiast, and recently I got catch in the studying of English sterling pennies in their golden age, that is the later Middle Ages... what I found very interesting is the large spreading of this coinage use all around Europe. Trying to deepen my information, I found a paper that I think could be very interesting: "The Sterling abroad", by Alan M. Stahl (complete reference: Stahl, Alan M. and Korngiebel Diane. "The Sterling abroad". The Haskins Society Journal 18:2006. Studies in Medieval History, edited by Morillo Stephen, NED-New Edition, Boyden & Brewer, 2007, pages 132-139). Unfortunately, I could not catch this paper in any way: no free links on the web, no possibility to access to web databanks, no availability of the book at any bookseller... Does anybody has access to this paper? And, if so, could I ask to get in touch with me in order to arrange sharing of it?
Thanks in advance to whom will be able to give help!

@ulp, first welcome to CCF. Second, have you tried reaching out to Prof Stahl directly? In my experience, authors are often happy to share copies of their papers with interested researchers.

Thank you very much Spence for your answer! I'll post on the presentations section! I tried to contact Prof. Stahl on ResearchGate, but so far I didn't receive any answer... so I'm trying other ways...

Ok good. Just a thought though--his email is readily available online so you might try that avenue rather than RG. With that said, it being summertime may mean that his response will be delayed no matter how you contact him.

Yes it's interesting how a coin copied from Charlemagne became the safe currency of Europe, because the English didn't reduce it's purity while in other places the coinage was billon. (That is, until Henry VIII). There's sometimes a paper or two online about the European hoards found full of English pennies, like the Brussels Hoard or the Naxos Hoard https://www.jstor.org/stable/42668385
